Also for Post office fans - Factotum and Women by him are also great although his attitude to women in Women can jar a bit at times. And then there's the short stories and poems, both worthy of your time too.

Finished Broken Harbour - the 4th Dublin squad, and probably the best I've read so far, the ending is emotionally devastating, the interplay between the characters is what makes it, I'm not sure it is detective fiction a lot of the time, political commentary in there, believable and beautifully sketched characters, cracking dialogue, and the books remain very different from each other, the second one could be of a kin to "The Secret History", this one was a descent into madness. Trying to avoid starting number 5 straightaway and reading something else for a change...

Chris I did read that when deciding whether to read it or not did put me off a bit But have book now so will give it ago

Finished The Reproductive System. A SF book apparently but did enjoy it
