Well, you know I liked it a lot and it has stayed with me this time after being distinctly underwhelmed sixteen years ago when I first read it. Was also living and working in central London in the 1980s.

Finished it last night.
Agree with Dipps 3rd part was better wouldn't say I loved it (sorry Linds) but it was OK

I'm at page 223 and enjoying it. Plus I walked down Kensington Park Gardens at the weekend and I've decided that the Feddens lived at No 7 :-)

@ Little N - I went to a party in one of those posh houses (1978 at a guess) can remember what I was wearing but not which street. May have to retrace my steps sometime....

Here's a bit of a coincidence, I went to a party in a top floor flat on one of the roads on the other side of Ladbroke Grove in the early 90s. It looked out over another garden square and had the most amazing views of north London! :-)
