Environment helps, I have found today. Sitting on the sofa with TV ahead of one and phone nearby is not conducive. Sitting in the sun in the garden is. I've gone back in on TLOB and I'm quite enjoying the section I've read today

I just got it from the library and I'm disappointed that Spidey isn't in the first chapter, but I guess that's the nature of an origin story.

I've had similar struggling to focus issues of late but yesterday sat and read Pet Sematary cover to cover. Clearly undead cats was what was missing.

I read over 100 pages of TLOB yesterday and am now half way through. I'm liking it more as I go on. Hollinghurst is very good on interiors, and there are also some lovely, throwaway one-liners.
