Finished Line of Beauty. Anybody want my copy? - I realise you've probably either got one already or have decided against reading it, but just thought I'd ask.

I’m afraid I’m giving up on TLOB, I’ve tried to get through it but it’s not happening. Maybe it’s just not the right time for me to be reading this.
I know a lot of people on the reviews have been saying that the 80s say it was a terrible era but I became a teenager 1980 and came of age during the decade: I have fond memories of both the good and bad things, especially coming out of the economic doldrums of the Seventies.
This is the second Hollinghurst I’ve tried to read and my second fail. I shan’t vote as I don’t feel like I have read enough to judge.

Ahem. Cards on the table time - I'm exactly the same as Dio. Couldn't get into it at all. Also didn't read enough to vote. My copy went straight back to the library after two days.
In fact - shock twist - I was hoping Dio would get my copy! I left a note in there. Now someone else has got to page 100 and found 'Hello Dio' and thought WTF? Or else it fell out somewhere....

I have so much to read, but nothing that grabs me at the moment. But yes, I actually looked at NA yesterday.

I think the Redhill copy was still out with you when mine arrived, but I’ll double-check.

It might not be page 100. It could be *anywhere* Probably under a librarian's shoe...

You’re just trying to trick me into reading further.
