DT, thanks for putting those links up a few pages back for the Lake, Ridge & Wainwright, and Lakeland 4 Passes events. Is it possible this is the area for next years SLMM? (Ie this year’s postponed event)

FF - I think Tom Hollins had that as a planned challenge pre Covid. The Wicklow Round changed its rules quite recently to exclude the use of GPS too, which makes it a little harder for anyone not familiar with the hills.
The Rankin is a great round; I have a vague plan to do this sometime over the next couple of years. I think it's quite a few hours easier than a BGR.

Interesting to hear you say that about The Rankin as that was my perception after a quick look at the times when I saw the news of the latest record. but as that was only a quick look I didn't know how valid that view was.

So this is a side by side comparison of Billy, Jasmin, Killian and Beth's splits. Beth's splits particularly when looked at against Billy's are mind blowing, particularly leg 3 onwards. The leg 3 difference between them pretty much comes down to Rossett. There is a slight warping of the comparisons in that Beth's breaks at the ends of each leg are added into the time for the next peak rather than shown separately as for the others.

Sorry scratch the comment about the breaks. I misunderstood a note on the original source that was explaining how he'd showed the information compared to how Beth released it. She seems to have only stopped for a single minute anyway!

One thing to take from all the numbers is if you’re interested in a good* time don’t hang around drinking tea for tens of minutes at the crossovers between legs. It’s easy to let time slip away
* good for you, or good as in sub-24hrs if it’s going to be close-ish
