Hann you want about 85-90 psi in your tyres max for the wet. thye want to feel a bit soft to the touch.

I tend to ride all winter on about 85psi just in case, with the amount of muck on the roads round here. Feels great though come the drier weather when I can max the pressure up!!

Although many tyres can be pumped hard, you do loose alot of feel and absorbancy with them. I'm a bit like hammerite, riding at 85-90 all winter. Summer around 100-110. They should 'ping' when flicked with a finger, is a good guide. In the wet they should be able to be pushed in about 1/4 inch. 3-4 mmm, but not too soft for the ride to feel mushy.

*waves* hello can i join you on your lovely thread?
i have a new specialized myka pro. (its a d4w) i put some egg beaters on - much nicer for clipping in and out of. i have fallen and managed to unclip every time and i fall over a lot. i had spd's and managed to get a collection of lovely bruises on my bum.
(i used to have a trek mtb and a suzuki sv650 (RIP) and i want a buell)

I've just started road cycling (Trek 1.5 thanks to cycle to work scheme) and I brick my self every time I pump tyres to 100 psi

Can i join in
I need to get a new bike but want one that i can have a go at Duathlons or tri's on. So what should i get ? I don't have a clue what to look for.
At the moment i have a Giant boulder hardtail Mtb. Very heavy though.

i am off for a bike ride today. i am doing a 30 mile bike ride on June, the bf is doing 55 miles. so we are doing a little practice ride this weekend.

I spend more time over there than here or RW but don't put myself firmly in any camp. Everyone I've met from any of the forums has generally been a nice sort...
That said I certainly wouldn't be found wearing Yellow at races if I had to choose... would clash badly with my ginger hair and pasty white torso
