Tri Mikey
Hi
Just returned from a weekend of cycling in North Devon Went with 10 male friends who like to drink and ride mountain bikes. So Friday get pissed. Saturday set off (11 a.m.) on some massive hill, through woods and over tracks that I wouldn't feel safe in a tractor. I fall off twice, both times because I'm going too slow (so they tell me) my front wheel hits boulders and I go over the handle bars.
We end in in the pub at 4 and leave at 8 (now riding in lanes with no lights and going about 30 mph down hills. Get back eat and get pissed.
Today they go off on mountain bikes. I go on road bike, safer but bloody hilly. Two punctures, no more inner tubes I get back and watch footie on TV.
I set off for home. Get a call we're in the pub where are you.

HOD did LEJOG a couple of years ago and we had a support vehicle so most of the team used road bikes. If you have support you won't need a touring bike.

Hann/EP - I can't use my new bike until next week, because I am not at home to use it... I've locked it safely away, and will have a "launch" ceremony on it tomorrow!

Update on my thread above. They got pissed again and decided to cycle home off road. One guy had an accident , smashed his face up badly and spent the night in Taunton Hospital. He can't ride back on his motor bike so he now has to go back to Devon later in the week.

Hills of Death (HOD)
We are slightly round the twist and see a support vehicle as cheating !!

Yeah this is where I went wrong this month, ah well, my freezer has some food left in it, I should be OK :)

What grease/oil stuff do I need to get to put on the pedals to loosen them/ use on the thread of the new ones?
