If it is indeed a good bike, nothing wrong with buying one and making sure you set it up correctly yourself...

Hollywoof!
TMW - they had some 2007 Dahon bikes going fairly cheap (less than their current website price) at the Evans clearance tent a couple of weeks ago - plus they were offering 10% off with a voucher - so if you are buying from Evans then feel free to ask for further discounts when you buy - they do want to get rid of them.

You can definitely buy Boardman bikes in-store in Halfords - not just online. I don't know anyone who rides one so don't have any worthwhile opinion about them. Last week, I did spot a sales guy in a neighbouring office who'd bought one - so I went and had a little play with it for a couple of minutes - it looked OK - didn't feel particulaly light (surprised me how heavy it did feel!), but it did look OK...

Yeah, and now I am tempted by the retro Gazelle/Campag jersey... It is dead cute, but I am slightly worried about it being wool...

Ooh ...yes, I like the campagnolo one. No doubt worth the cash - but I couldn't justify it either at the mo.
