i agree with hammerite, but don't too big a ride that's beyond your capabilities. eg used to riding 50 miles, 75 is ok, 85-100 maybe pushing it.

Just don't do long rides with folks who are much more fitter than you, you'll get a serious pasting and have to struggle back at their pace. saying that, that's how I learnt. Oh! those good days as teenager, being ush back for 40 miles by the older lads, falling asleep on the living room floor, walking down stairs backwards, bliss.

There's so much of this rectro gear about, saw dozens of riders wearing at the weekend. I still want and wear pro team gear where I can. looks much better

Good bit of advice next time you decide just to go for a quick 10 mile spin make sure you stick to it and not do 30 mile with 500ml of water and 1 power bar squeezy gel to get you around :( Still the sun was shining and warm if a little bit breezy :)

Greg I wear a n old MG GB circa 87-88, re Museuw et al. i would love to get my hands on old carrera or mercatone uno gear. call it hero worship.

when you think about it. they don't have that in running do they?
