Just dropping a progress not in here:

23:26 Parkrun 5k on 30th April 2011
23:48 Parkrun 5k on 27th August 2011

Notes:
No running other than that on my log - so a 10k training run in June.
I've been at total rest for 2 weeks due to a holiday that involved lots of large food portions and alcohol. Left mid-week so didn't have the chance to benchmark before holiday.

A little bit slower & thighs were like jelly 10 minutes post run but happy that performance hasn't decreased too much. Intend to start the 30 day Asylum program next week combine with heavy compound weights to build up strength for power:weight ratio. I intend to run at least once a week, aiming for twice - wednesday easy, Saturday park run tempo / race

I did my first workout today, after the fitness test yesterday. I knew it was going to be brutal but jeeez, I sweated so much it stung my eyes and it kept dripping on the floor. Back muscles hurt too. It's going to be one hell of a 9 weeks!

Just finished the last workout of week three and legs are for some reason suffering tonight, probably signaling that all the plyometrics are starting to take their toll and need a day off. 5 and a half pounds down from day 1 and even after week two, distinct difference in the fitness test, quite surprised. I sweat like a pig and sometimes puff so hard after an interval I don't think I'll EVER recover but by some miracle, I do.

No doubt that I'll be in the best shape of my life after the 9 weeks. If I don't die first.

Good work buddy :)

I'm on round 3 now but will only being doing phase 1. I got a place in London Marathon so will need to start training for that soon.

I found that both times I did insanity I only lost weight in phase 1. Weight was pretty consistent in phase 2 although I did feel much fitter / stronger.

"recovery" week seems to come at just the right time - no doubt you know that's not easy either. You must be almost done - how are you getting on?

I busted my back on first day of recovery week! :-( I've had to take two complete weeks off from exercise, topped off by a nasty cold. I'm starting back up again tonight...a bit worried about phase 2 :-O

Kudos to you for going for 3rd round!

Started this with the fit test on Monday, Day 3 today. Phew!!!! Going to stick with it, have taken b4 pics, not really watching my diet at the mo though, being Christmas and all that, will eat healthier in the new year. A load of us at work were going to start it in the new year, but if I waited it would have clashed with my holiday so I have started early.

Stick with it JB - I really rate it. I did 3 rounds. First round was a bit rough on the knees towards the end of week 4 but they endured. I recomend using some sort of matt to jump on.

Loads of people at work started too & it's still ongoing, although not for me. Most people seem to drop weight in phase one & remain the same weight in phase 2 but get stronger.

This is a bit of a low touch thread but people find it :) It would be good to see any update on how you get on

Jerboa knows I'm going to give this a go, but not planning on everyday as won't get my running & cycling in too. I think colleagues are supposed to start it next week, so think I'll start with the fitness test on my days off this weekend.

I'm not concerned so much about the losing weight, just the inches and getting better muscle tone..........and a six pack would be cool!

Been too ill with a chesty cold and cough over Christmas so had to knock it on the head. Wanted to finish the 60 days before my hols but now I will just have to cut it short or start it afterwards.
