Another Newbie question. What's all this about marking your upper arm with your race number for the swim ?

You could have clothing changes during the race so wearing numbers all the time is difficult. However, you don't change your skin and so you get drawn on, usually on your arms and legs.

No, they have people responsible for marking up and you go to them, tell them your number and they write on you.
