Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Jason - with a PB of 2:20:0x I'd love you to be right! (But sadly that's not the explanation 220 magazine give)

JenJ - Definitely agree with Finders that you've got to be careful comparing times as there's technique and different strengths to consider across all 3 events. However, for a sample race... one of my local thames turbo sprints (426m, 21km, 5km) - http://www.tri247.com/results_3623.html:
- swim - 1st 5:59, 100th 9:26, 200th 10:56, 300th 12:45, last 22:08
- bike - 1st 30:51, 100th 38:59, 200th 42:52, 300th 47:37, last 1:10:35
- run - 1st 18:03, 100th 23:20, 200th 26:01, 300th 30:00, second last 47:40 (last walked the lot)

I haven't read 220 for over 15 years, but I recall that being the explanation back then.

By the way, if anyone wants to do my tri, I'm still accepting entries.

as someone who's doing their first tri on Sunday ... what are the rules?
Pix has already said to not get nekkid and put helmet on before touching bike (and don't ride bike in transition) but are there others?
and what's a good way to transition?

IC just enjoy!!
I did have to remind myself i was racing in my 1st as the bike section was so pretty

so my advice is remember it's not a sunday stroll!!
Lay things out in the order you want to put them on
remember where you rack your bike
wibble
go to the pool
wibble
swim
wibble

locate bike
wibble
for sunday don't forget to dismount and walk across the road as they are giving time faults if you don't
wibble
bike hard
wibble
rack bike
wobble
finish
grin like cheshire cat and bounce a bit!
