Thanks for the tyre lever recommendations, I'll look out for those.

Good points fromLD. I can put a chain back on and... nothing more. It's not often I realise I'm in a world of incompetence but cycling is definitely outside my skill zone in theory and practice.

Thanks for the tyre lever recommendations - I really struggle with getting a tyre back on. Infuriating. I’ve happily taken my touring bike to triathlons, but a heavier bike wears your running legs out. |

I replaced the cassette and chain on my commuter bike this week. I feel quite butch. It’s also a lot nicer to ride. |

Can someone point me in the direction of a good place to read up on "Wheels"? I don't know a lot about bikes, I have a Cube Attain GTC which I have been told is a fairly ok mid-range bike. I have the wheels that came with them, bog standard regular width ones. Everyone in my riding group has wheels with a clearly wider diameter, I'm not going to assume they go faster than me because of this though as I don't ride as much as I should but I have been told wheels do help. I tried to do a bit of research and I realized it wasn't a simple case of just width, some wheelsets require cassettes, there's a different kind for disc brake ones and there may or may not be a specific kind for the Shimano gearset I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

@Gobi basically, rather than jump in the deep end and get something ridiculously expensive. Whats the best "cheapish" aero shimano 11 speed carbon wheelset i can get?

Skr - I have a set of training wheels that look like zipp 404s but are superdream carbon clinchers. Cost about 400 quid. They are good enough that I race on them. gobi70.wordpress.com End of season blog |
