That was OHs slice, because he had the prettier plate!

We have a mixed crockery collection, two plates and three bowls in the willow pattern OH inherited from his Nan a long time ago (1990s). Sadly I chipped the third plate last year.

Thanks! It was nice and most not because I fed it alcohol, but because of the tinned pineapple (which you don't really taste). I used alisonspantry.co.nz with adaptions including making it dairy free.

One day we might stop living like students and actually buy a proper matching set of crockery, rather than the random mix we have. I'm more tempted since a friend told me we were "on trend", we're just lazy and frugal, not trendy :-)

Love it. I hear ya! :)
[full disclosure: we do have a nice set of matching crockery we were gifted for our wedding, but the day-to-day stuff is a mix of the things we both brought with us over 20 years ago!]

Jenelopy I like random crockery! Mine is all hand thrown by different potters collected over 30 odd years, a plat or bowl at a time!

Remind me never to try meringue beating by hand when already tired! I gave up / ran out of time before it reached stiff peaks, and may never have got there because I think a smidge of egg yoke got in, I probably didn't whisk the egg enough before adding the sugar, and added the sugar too quickly given the speed I was hand-beating it.

Still, it tasted nice, and used eggs from our chickens and early windfalls from our Bramley Seedling tree. I bought the sugar though...

That looks delicious Jenelopy, I don’t make merengue anymore as I don’t use eggs, I know aquafaba can be used but not tried it as it can be very difficult to get right.
