A standard round cake with a paddleboard and person on top made from icing or marzipan? If you do want the cake to be paddleboard shaped then I think I would go for load tin and cut to shape it.

When I get a vague idea for a cake I just google it and look at all the images and then refine my idea based on everyone else's ideas!

Swiss roll tin the cut out two identical shapes and fill with buttercream - ganache or fondant over it all, figure on top?

I think the theory is sound. Depending on how big you want it you could do a traybake rather than Swiss roll tin?
