Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Morning some lovely fetchie posted a recipe in their blog for Spanish almond cake. Went off to do something and can't remember which of the 50 odd blogs it might have been. Does anyone know who's blog it was think I might give it a try this afternoon ?

Another attempt at sourdough. Much better. Still slightly doughy in the middle but tasted good.

Ground ginger. Best before August 2013. Do I risk it in a parkin tomorrow morning? It doesn't smell *bad*, but it doesn't smell particularly gingery.

I’d use it personally quimby (but I pay very little/no attention to best before dates anyway) - but you might need a lot more of it to get any ginger taste in your parkin. So ultimately it may not be worth it especially if you’ve got some fresher stuff!

As panad says I'd just use a lot more than the recipe says guimby but then I'd use a lot more if it were in date and smelling strongly too :-)

Thanks all. It's the only ingredient I don't have a recent supply of, so I reckon I'll try it. :-)
