Have any of you heard about Fitfest? 9-10 December at the NEC it's a combined event with the British Weightlifting Champs, Indoor Rowing Champs, a CrossFit comp and some other fitness related events along with a big expo.

Tickets available here: fixr.co

I'm keen but it looks like if I go I'm going on my own. If anyone else on here is going it would be good to meet up and say hi.

I hadn't but sounds like an interesting mix of events on and worth going to. I am however already fully booked that weekend so will have to attempt to remember to check for next year's dates after the event.

Assuming you report back that it was worth the trip.

Hmm, not sure I'm ready to commit to a weights expo - is it just thousands of people milling around in sleeveless tees?
Gym owner chap is talking about getting some lauded lifter in to do a talk/demo, it would be a paid event. Reckon I'd go out of curiosity

It’s several fitness-related competitions (weightlifting, CrossFit, rowing, fitness racing) over the course of the weekend along with an expo with a lot of manufacturers and retailers peddling their wares. Also some celebrities in the “fitness space” doing appearances and photo ops for anyone that wants it.

I’ve been to watch a CrossFit comp before and loved it, and the Indoor Rowing champs is something I’m particularly interested in (plus we might have a Fetchie competing in the age groups, but that’s definitely not me!).

I suspect there’ll be a fair number of obviously gym-bro and gym-girl looking folks there but there’ll also be powerlifters and strongman competitors and just fans with dad bods like me.

You'll have to go Mac, if only to stop Nellers from coming away with all of the peddler's wares! ;)

Squatted today for the first time in a while, calf felt ok, the rest of me however was a different story.
