Arcade Club is an awesome place in Bury (also one in Leeds, and one to be opened in Blackpool at some point) - three floors of arcade excellence. One entry fee, then everything is free play. They have so much, from very retro stuff through to modern machines, and food and drink in-venue is reasonably priced. Can't recommend the place enough.

Ooh, that sounds ace for a salt-mine night out, if I can persuade them out to the wilds of Bury...

They have something very similar in MK - I must make a pilgrimage there at some point. And there’s a ‘gaming museum’ in Notts, which has some stuff - but also a broader remit, with exhibits of older stuff.

[Bury is actually rather nice these days. Granted, AC isn't too arduous a trek for me from East Manchester ]

The salt-mine is on Store St. Half my lovely colleagues would regard Ancoats as unacceptably far away, never mind Bury. Their reaction on hearing that I was off to Heaton Park for a run back to Mcr suggested that they thought I'd gone full Captain Oates. |
