I have a feeling it will, HB. I spent 102 hours on the story mode in total (tried the new game+ for an hour, but it wasn't very exciting) - though I could probably complete it again in 80 now that I understand the combat better. I spent just as long on completing X as well. Got a lot of value for money out of that one. |

Good to know, sort of. No idea when I will have the time to invest in it!

My raspberry pi allows me to play my itunes collection over the speakers. Apart from when the boys are on the xbox and throttling the wi-fi...

If anyone wants a free little gem of a game on ios (other versions may be available) Stellar Smooch is pretty great. Be warned, you will likely complete it in about 30 minutes, but it's a very enjoyable half hour.

Finished Soma the other day. Brilliant piece of sci-fi. The gameplay isn't quite as special as Amnesia but the plot and storytelling is just lightyears ahead. It mines a rich vein of SF, about life extension and what it means to be human. That moment at the end of Omicron, and the ending itself... both still make me shiver. Amnesia's overarching horror (besides the jump scares) is from the same vein as Saw and Hostel, Soma's is more I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, more existential. (Spoilers follow for Amnesia but not for Soma.) Amnesia rather peters out at the end, it drags on for one level too many and if you go to the trouble of the "good" ending you get some pretty lights and a vague assurance that this is a good thing for you. Soma has a proper ending, a real punch in the stomach. |

Soma is on my list. Keep hearing about That Dragon Cancer but I feel I am a bit too fragile currently to take that subject matter on.
