I’m using walking as a rest day from running too much. Although, if I feel fine, my walks often morph into run/walks. That’s the advantage of going out in warm temperatures.. your outfit is pretty similar for either.

I would have been walking about 5 miles a day as part of my commute (so most was not for the main purpose of exercise) but that’s gone now and, like others, running is my favoured outdoor exercise, then cycling.

I'm not doing too badly but am prioritising running when I'm exercising alone.

I am just over 400 for the year, but now it's getting warmer the bike is out more for my 1 hour of exercise for the day.

Had built walk into commute not currently doing - struggle to motivate myself for a walk otherwise, plus a bit scared having a few at risk factors. Hoping to get some indoor rowing going next week when work not so hectic |

Hello. I’ve just discovered the walking league (I know, been here years too. Should know better) and enjoying being higher up it by about a million miles than I’ve ever been in the running league!

Thought this might be of interest to some of you ravenellison.com It's a mapping project "While there are thousands of miles of paths linking places across the country, there isn’t a comprehensive network designed to help people walk off-road between all towns and cities. That’s what the Slow Ways project aims to do. The Slow Ways project kindly supported by the Kestrelman Trust, is being managed through Topolocus (my geography innovation business) and we’ve teamed up with Ordnance Survey who I collaborate with through their GetOutside campaign. As a result, the entire Slow Ways network will be published online and made freely available via Ordnance Survey. While an initial first draft has been created, a team of volunteers is currently reviewing what’s been done. Later this year we’ll be sharing the routes and putting a call out for 10,000 volunteers to help explore, test and feedback on them. It would be great to have your help with that!" |
