I've got a Matchbox Hotwheels cars advent calendar. For my nearly 4 year old grandson. But I probably won't get it to him. So it will have to wait until next year. At least it won't go off! :-) G

At work, we've been sent a Cadbury Dairy Milk one. We'll have to share that between 3 of us.

At home, my OH bought me a Haribo one! (I'm 42 years old...)

I have a picture only one and have done for the last few years. It brings back memories of the advent calendars I had as a child and I now prefer them to the chocolate ones.

My sister and I have the same advent calendars so we can share the experience of opening them despite living 350 miles apart.

I have a Nespresso one for me. We also have cardboard ones with little figures that slot in - one a day- to build up a scene. One is a traditional Nativity, the other is a school Nativity. We've had them for years and the girls do one each.

I think I will have a rant about calendars with food and drink in them. JUST WRONG (and greedy)

Raffo saw one in the Co-op yesterday and said basically it was just an advert for Maltesers.

I don't even think chocolatey ones are 'nice for children.' Spoils the fun of a selection box and a MASSIVE tube of Smarties on Christmas morning.

BAH!

I don't have an actual advent calendar, but usually buy myself a box of chocolates with 24 or 25 pieces in it and have one a day. This year it is a Green and Blacks mini bar selection box :)

Last year I got a Nespresso Advent calendar with a massive price reduction towards the end of the season of Advent, stacked with a discount on a purchase of capsules and a "free gift" which might have been useful in a household accustomed to serving coffee up daintily with sugar lumps in a bowl and cream in a jug.
