You know the story of the tortoise and the hare (of course), well my married name is Hare so I get to be both. Hopefully I wont start off too fast on the day

Excellent, in that case I'll sign up
I will however be the slowest, but then again, won't be the first or last time I've finished last.

Repeat after me: There is no "last", you're still in front of everyone who can't or won't run or try and all those who do run but won't try timetrials incase they have the slowest time. [I've been last a few times now and always got excellent support because people know its tougher being at the back)
I'm looking forward to getting my time and then enjoying my training as I try and improve
Join the I dont want to be last group....its quite funny Nyw x

Thanks so much for that. I don't actually mind being at the back because I have had some amazing support. I just love that feeling of total accomplishment when I finish and I know that I've done something I just would never have thought I was able to do.
Will definately have a look at the I don't want to be last group though. Think that will keep me smiling

Totally agree, anyone who runs is automatically way ahead of the huge percentage of the population who never shift their arses!

Thank you so much folks. I guess I'm still a bit shy about this running malarkey. Doing it for myself though and to be a fitter and healthier person, which I am. I must admit though, never thought I would take to running. My dad started in his 40s and was doing sub 3hr marathons within a couple of years, so I guess he has inspired me too.
Really appreciate the support though. Will never win anything, but heck sometimes you get some good spot prizes being at the back
