Ditto what the others have said. Lots of respect for getting out there and doing it rather than considering it "too difficult" and just not bothering.

There's a large percentage of the population who can't run a mile in 12 minutes, and only a very small proportion who can run faster. So you're still better than 90% of Britain!

Plus it's tougher for us Aberdonian area inhabitants as everyone knows Aberdeen is officially the coldest, wettest, windiest greyest place On the Planet*. So we have to be Hard as nails and spend way more money on hat/gloves/lard to rub on our exposed areas, if attempting to run between Nov and February. Cross country is sheer madness *Disclaimer- some mild exaggeration was used in the making of this thread

Is anyone doing the round the castles series this year? I did it last year and came last in my age category. Or 7th :-)

I did RTC... 2 years ago? Buggered my left Achilles tendon and my right knee in the same race, and was injured for 2 months. After that I've stayed away from anything that doesn't involve tarmac.

Maz, I was behind you cos I was so slow I didnt even GET a time! I had to submit my own guesstimate based on the times on the picture my husband took of me at the start and the end. I was gutted. It's a tough one- the other two were' easier' (or maybe I was just prepared for it). I didnt come last on either of the others surpsrisingly. I think I beat a 60 year old lady :-( XC is tough

I think I remember you coming in from that now Nywanda. I was stood talking with Andrinne just along the finishing straight and we were surprised to see someone still coming. Big up to you for keeping going.

I am not doing RTC series as I hated it! I walked the hill. It's not my kind of race. I prefer longer distances and fewer hills :-)

I am doing the metro Aberdeen 5k on 9/10 and Fraserburgh Half on 21/11. Anyone else doing them?
