Its not me in particular, was just a thought about people setting up coaching businesses claiming to be qualified "coaches" when that could be the run leader qual or athletics coach or a higher qual. Just was interested and it seems it not easy for athletes to check these things which is a shame.
I'm expecting to show my card when joining my new club in a few weeks if I want to coach there.

@Curley45 - sure, I totally hear you about unqualified people who setup a coaching business whilst claiming to be a 'qualified' coach. It is the Bain of the coaching world! Good coaches will invest a significant amount of their own time and money to gain qualifications and develop their knowledge. Sadly though, the internet is awash with coaches who have built up a coaching business by simply having a social media following.
I do think some sort of publicly accessible register of qualified coaches would be beneficial however, it is unlikely that any ‘average Joe Public’ would take the time out to check whether their new coach is qualified, especially if the coach is some Instagram influencer with 100k followers!
I'll pass on your thoughts to my contacts within EA and see if they are looking at creating a register of coaches.

..or above. So Assistant Coach and LiRF do not count. Has to be CiRF or Coach.

Fetch hive mind! I am booked onto one of the new mandatory Safeguarding & First Aid courses this evening. No idea how I access it? No email - just a receipt, and I can see when I log in to myathletics portal that I am registered. Has anyone done of these? I was rather assuming I'd have received a link or something...

I did it a few months ago. Very dull, nothing particularly new, but you don't have much of a choice.
I got a link sent to me a few days before, which was easy enough to use.
The problem I had is they didn't update my record as attended and that was a right pain to sort out.

I've done my safe guarding. First aid will come to me on renewal I believe. Think that's next year so happy to wait until its necessary.
