Lovely folks, I’m looking for some advice on accommodation for London marathon. I’ve had a Quick Look and just about passed out regarding price as I’ll be going on my own so don’t want to spend a small fortune. Any hints or tips would be very much appreciated.

We stayed nearer the finish than the start, got a reasonable deal on a Holiday Inn.

We stayed in the premier inn at convent garden as it was quite near the finish so less to travel home to too. Free tube travel on the day to get to the start line.

Probably someone who has ran it will have a better idea.

I have stayed in the Docklands as it was easy to jump on the train to the start

I stayed in the Stratford area both times I ran London Marathon. The Premier Inn was very handy for the shopping centre for food and was close to the DLR.

Stayed in the Holiday Inn Express the second time. Slightly further but was wee bit easier for getting to/from airport.

Both were easy enough to get to the start. Literally just followed other folk!

Not that it's particularly important, but I'm not getting 700 this year.Just happy and contented with my 600 odd and fresh beginnings of an upward curve, as it were😀
