We came home from our jollies today - 7.5 hours travelling nearly non- stop. I went for a run this evening and the old calf had started niggling again ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I’ve stretched, rollered and exercised it. Fingers crossed it heals quickly or it’s back to the physio.

Evening - club session done - got wet but it wasn't quite as cold as I feared. I frankly struggled to hit my best pace as I still feel a bit underpowered, but I'm glad I went. I have Inov8 Mudclaws which I love for x-c, New Balance trail shoes (I forget which ones) are good for easy trails. I have some Brooks ones I bought in a sale which are in their box still atm

I saw tonight's/tomorrow's weather forecast and got out for a run earlier, trying to get a new all-time highest January mileage before I pop off skiing.

Has this anything to do with some of the crazy 700ers? (Crazy for swimming in ponds at 5'C, I hasten to add, not for making a clear statement of welcome to transgender women.) hamhigh.co.uk |

Hello Kwala ... and I'm sure there was someone else new to this thread too, but I've forgotten who. Oh no, now it's Bint lurgified. And McG. Look after yourselves and get well soon. Been to vibe cycle class. Less than satisfied. Cost per session has gone up by 50p, and it wasn't the usual teacher but someone who provided much less variety. Scarcely broke a sweat. |

[As the dad of a transgender son I find the warmth and clarity of the swimming club's statement quite moving]

You're hardcore Columba! I expect the other people were glad to have an easier session for the first one back after the festivities. Bootcamp this evening and we did quite a bit of "sprinting" in among the kettlebell stuff. It aggravated my foot a bit, which is not happy because of a tight calf and piriformis, so I've iced the foot and done a bit of trigger point and stretching. I need to do more of this as I can't face another injuryfest of a year. |
