My gym has a new 'running club' that promises it will work on my running technique...no idea what it actually involves, but I have booked on to the next one to give it a go. (Note to self, buy new shoe laces for running shoes to replace the ones the dog sabotaged.)

I swam in that "pond" many moons ago when I lived more or less in London. Love the transgender statement :)

I was going to do something bendy stretchy and some bodyweight "strenghthening" stuff this afternoon - but a trip to Sainsbury's wore me out and I've been sofa-glued ever since. W*rk tomorrow - hoping they'll be scared by my cough and send me home....

Why the fuck doesn't it surprise me that it was the Daily Mail running an article with such a disgusting title?

I was hoping it was the bruise on my shin causing the pain but nope it isn't that :-(

Love my Inov-8's. I have Roclite 295's with a decent drop. Did Gut Buster with them on Sunday and the first 2.5 miles were road and they were ok, then brilliant in the mud and the wet. Although had there been less road I'd have got out the X-Talons which are even more nobbly, but with virtually no drop at all..

Annoyingly I've lost my Ant stick so can't upload from my Garmin. I've ordered a new one - what better way to guarantee the old one will turn up!

Why do Garmin keep on using ANT? Nobody else does, it’s either Bluetooth or WiFi.

I was going to run but weather was horrid so I went to a yoga class instead. Advantage of now living in a large town is having access to yoga, spin and various gyms. Second time at the place but first proper yoga class I’ve tried. I don’t like it as much as I like pilates.

Dive in and don't expect to keep up with the thread Jason! :) Just post where you can.

For those using ANT there's an excellent little app (for Android, not sure about the fruit) which uses your 'phone's internal ANT if you have one. Called ST Uploader.

Sometimes it takes several tries to get it to upload but if you have your Connect account linked with Fetch you can upload to Connect and it automatically comes through here. I think it was a couple of quid.

Thanks Carp, I'll look into that but will probably have to get a new phone to use it - have no room for any new apps on my current phone - can't even update current apps as i have so little memory available (it was a cheap "temporary" phone that I got when my old phone blackscreened on me and I was heading up North for a funeral so had to get something in a hurry - that was October 2016 and I'm still using it!!!).

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
