I had a nice run, too. I made myself run up all the hills except the worst one. I have decided that my lack of fitness is down to a. too much cake, b. extreme knackeredness and c. my refusal to do speedwork or run up hills.

Ah, cam belts - even more expensive if they go and blow up your engine though RRRRRRRR (I speak from bitter experience ;-) )

Evening all :)

ditto what LD said re cam belts!

Fab pics Ymee :)

I also use gell packs kept in bottom of the fridge rather than freezer, then they don't need wrapping in anything (mine have a sort of soft almost fleecy surface). Cold spray is useful to have in kit when away from home, but doesn't seem to be a very good substitute for something properly cold.

Nice run around town in the rain before school, then 50 yr 8s on the train to Stevenage for end of term ten-pin bowling treat. Completely knackered!

Missed 86 posts :-o and no idea what anyone is going on about.

Last official work day of 2018 today, but unofficially I've still got sh*t loads still to do :-(

Ferret - think you’re right. Maybe using a slightly too heavy kettlebell for first class. Back was a bit sore at end of class.

I also have gel pack you freeze/micro. I have a little sleeve thing for it that has elasticated strap.

*has gel pack envy*
*does not have car bill envy*
We have a steam fresh pack of road beans and assorted veg we use for general injuries. No one was keen on the taste and I think it was one of the packs that had a food safety recall but we reckon it’s fine for sports ;-)

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
