Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Bad luck, Footpad, but encouraging nonetheless. Since you made such a good impression, I'm sure they'll think of you if something else comes up. Also great experience (and confidence-booster) for the other interviews :)

Hang in there Footpad, the right thing will come along.

I bought a new bike today - I am very excited. I have to wait until Tuesday to pick up though.

Evening all.

Day off today. I too was glued to my bed and really struggled to get out of it. Even cancelled a stretch class as no energy. Eventually got up as was out for a birthday lunch.

Fingers crossed you get the next one footpad.

Ooo, a new bike Sweetie - lovely :-) And yes, Footpad, *your* job is just around the corner! luck

We are at the seaside and it is blissfully a degree or two cooler, and fresher feeling, than at home. The other very good news for me is that my little back yard is looking really pretty :-) I thought, not having been here for nearly two weeks, that all my plants would be droughted but the intense rain they had last Sunday here must have been perfect. It's quite a transformation from two years ago when we moved in, if I say so myself.

I wondered if you'd see FM today Fleecy, with today being her birthday. Wish her a happy birthday from me and have a blast in the pub tonight. champagne :)

All sounding promising FP, still keeping my gingers crossed for you. luck
Hurray for new bikes and pretty gardens. :)

Long walk in the heat for me today, well and truly knackered now. ;-)

SaraWoo, I shall watch with interest; you are the only person I "know" on the "targeting 300 miles in 2018" list. Apart from myself, that is.

Footpad, good luck with the remaining interviews.

Hi all. Thanks Dipps. About to turn the light out for an early start. Did a bit of route recc-ing from the station to the hotel. It was so beautiful just wandering along the Thames in central London tonight.

Sorry to hear about the interview Footpad but you sound very upbeat about the process which is great. Good luck going forward.

Saw some nice photos on twitter from your run Fleecy, but it did look hot.

Morning all.

Have woken up feeling a bit giddy :-(. Will have some breakfast and see if I'll make it to parkrun.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
