Playing to my strengths FML - I have 5 minutes on the lady in 2nd place (I met her last night and she was very nice) but I suspect she will run the 12 miles on the final day better than me, I am hoping I can run the 5 tomorrow and the 6 on Friday substantially faster and build up a bit more of a lead! I had no expectations of being in the running for a category win, but it would be nice to hang on to it if I can!

AL - at least you know who your nearest rival is and you can monitor the situation ninja

And apologies to the arachnophobia people for the spider picture, didn't think a picture had the same effect.

Morning :)

Thanks for the (())), dad is on his way home again I believe, think it was a digestive complication of his Parkinsons sure someone will fill me in properly at some point..

I'm not quite as bad with arachnids as I was, but can still raise a loud scream when surprised by a large one close up. Pictures are just as bad.

Morning all.

My giddy aunt, it's hot out there. I went for a 10 mile run at 8:30 this morning into Brighton. By the time I turned for home at the Palace Pier I was drenched in sweat. I must admit, the sea looked very inviting as I ran back along the promenade.

Right, I'm off to push the lawnmower round the garden. I hope everybody has a nice relaxing day.

Morning belated bunting for Kim
Called time on DS football team last night come August it will be the first time for 21 years that I will not be preparing pre season training a little sad but on the plus side more parkruns
Good news FP sounds lovely
Not a great spider fan but rest of family are worse so I get the paper glass trick and they live :-) otherwise it is a large slipper/flip flop/ Shoe/ Trainer to the head and they die :-(

lol, AL. I really did run 10k in this once:

The best thing was the sword to accidentally whip the legs of my rivals ninja

Seriously, if you are dressing up AND you still want to be competitive, make sure it wont' slow you down.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2017 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Happy running :-)
