That's an early night, Seren.

Great news about Leaflet's job, AL. And Dio's run. And NSC's nearly 700 (looking forward to the photo).

Bint, do you think you'll get another cat in the fullness of time? To keep Bonnie company when you're in the Bintshoppe and all the other places you go?

I think so, Columba.

All the advice I've read is to wait a while though to give her time to grieve and understand that Clyde is gone. And I know it's difficult introducing a new cat to her territory. I do worry about her being lonely :-(

You'll want to get one about the same age as herself, perhaps?

I'll have to do some research into what's best.

She's used to having a companion. We've just been playing and she's back on my knee.

I had two kittens from the same litter. They were very cute together. When one got run over the other seemed fine, in fact with time he became more affectionate, he was a big softie, so although I'd contemplated it I didn't get a second cat.

I still miss having a furry bundle to cuddle, but don't miss the pawprints, hairs on the laundry, dead animals or cat sick. And it does give me freedom to go away without having to worry about feeding him.

Our neighbours' cats were brother and sister and although Ernie missed Bertie at first he blossomed on his own, he is now the centre of the world and I think likes it that way.

I think Seren had been up all night with work, hence early night :-)

XC fab but v hilly - seemed as hard as Beachy to me, is that possible?

Have skim read today's posts - seems like there are hugs and high fives needed in equal measure.

NSC - I'd love to see the programme on Nicky Spinks. What channel was it on?

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2016 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

bunting and 700er medals are often spotted around here.

Happy running :-)
