Took DD2 to XC training this morning. 9 miles round Swinley Forest with the club. Lots of hills and smiles. We ran past our Local Santa Dash too FML. Some very cute Santarettes out too :-)

5 miles off 1000 for the year. Need to find somewhere memorable for a photo this week.

Morning (oops, after noon now). Been to the first XC race of the season. It was hard! Pretty hilly and very muddy in places. About 90s slower than when I last did this course about 3 years ago but that was just after a marathon so i can cope with that!

Annoyingly I could not find my favourite trail shoes, my Kanadias. Wore an older pair which were fine but could've done with the grip of the Kanadias. Either I've left them at ex-BF's or they've been lost :-(
Will purchase another pair as will be close to running shop later today

Fortunately, I was marshalling at about 3k into the race and the sun came out as I was hanging around waiting for everyone. When they'd all gone through I went down to the golf course to join a friend and cheer the racers on again. I was recognised by a few of them from earlier - it might have had something to do with the cow bell I was ringing. :)

Well XCd and well marshalled.

6 miles of run/walk for me this morning. Must've been warm because the gloves came off half way round.

3.1 miles, at a rather more respectable pace than last time.

Hi all
I did the East Midlands airport 10k this morning I wasn't sure what kind of race it was going to be with 1800 people taking part

Turns out it was very flat and wide so I helped myself to a 10k pb by about 3 minutes .and don't my legs know it Ouch.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2016 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

bunting and 700er medals are often spotted around here.

Happy running :-)
