I ran last night I hadn’t been feeling it over the weekend. I had a trip via the post office (to return my faulty garmin) I was going to do about 5k but once out I was happy to go a bit further. I even ended off doing a route I have a mental issue with as it’s a road that looks flat but is anything but. I decided to pull up my big girl pants and do it. I was amazed to finish on a pace that was much quicker for that route. Tired today so I didn’t go my workout first thing I may do it later.

Doing a check in to see how my lovely 500 gang are doing?

If you are all coping at this time. It’s a strange one for sure I’m ok with being in the house and having more down time but not motivated enough to get the stuff done I really need to do. We are working full time - although I’m struggling with this too which is most unusual as I work from home quite often & I’m normally way more productive than in the office. I’m trying not to pressure myself by thinking I have to do X and hope I soon settle in.

I do miss just pooping out, calling to see people and missing running with my mam.

I’m even worrying about the time we are released back into the open world.

So just thought I’d see how you all are and to let you know I’m thinking of you all esp those of you who are shielding. Take care all

I’m doing ok. I do wonder whether this is a bit of an unorthodox feed into retirement for me. I was hoping, that come 65 in May next year, I could reduce my working hours and maybe do two or three days a week. A new shift pattern which started in January has probably put paid to that, as the pattern doesn’t allow for much flexibility in manpower availability.

So, as I’m in the vulnerable category ref Coronavirus and am having to shield, and don’t really expect that after my twelve weeks confinement I’ll be able to go out still, I can see myself not returning to work maybe at all before I can draw my company pensions twelve months in May.

I’ve found plenty to keep myself occupied, and (apart from a couple of plumbing jobs, which I’m reluctant to attempt in case of some problems I can’t resolve by myself) there is still many projects that I can turn my hand to. I do fear though that I will run out of jobs before my lockdown (the chance to get vaccinated) ends.

It would be very nice to go for a run!

I think that I’m fairly comfortable in my own (and my wife’s) company, but its nice to be able to keep in touch through Fetch, with all these people that I’ve never met.

I hope that everyone else is ok, well and coping.

GG I forgot to make a remark about your last post “just pooping out”. 💩

How remiss of me. I must try harder! 😀

Darn this predictive text 😂 it loves getting me into trouble.

It must be so hard for you Red I do feel for you and others who are having to be even more isolated. Let’s hope these trials we’re starting this week work and can be issued wider sooner than current prediction.

Glad to hear you're doing okay Red. I think one of the most unsettling things is not being able to plan for anything in the future with any degree of certainty.

When would the original 12 weeks of confinement for you be due to end? I've lost track already, but I think the rest of us are on about week 4 and know that nothing much will change until 8 May.

I'm quite happy working from home and very grateful for so many reasons to have a job that allows me to do that. I have no desire to go back to working full time in an office again.

Theoretically June 15th Scribbler. I started a few days early than Government recommendations. When they suggested “from this weekend” in their briefing on March 17th, I thought that I don’t have any added immunity to this until “this weekend” so after a quick handover at work the following day I’ve been in lockdown since.

Just thinking our header currently shows races we planned to do they’re not going ahead so would we like to change it to give ourselves little things to do be it read a book, paint the fence, organise a zoom meeting ;), a virtual run/activity challenge?

More than happy to add new goals to keep us all entertained and connected.

About This Thread

Maintained by geordiegirl
*EDIT* in the current situation we are not entering races but I think we can still log any plans we may have over the coming months, whether it is learning a new skill, ticking jobs off a list, moving house(!), doing alternative exercise, aiming for training hours instead of miles, writing to family & friends, finding inventive ways to be together virtually or even entering virus races please fill in the planner and I’ll update this thread and keep our little social group going to share our goals.

Everyone is welcome, whether you don't want to set an official target or you may be aiming further but still want to pop by for a chat/offer some words of wisdom or just because the door is always open and kettle is on.

Target miles Link fetcheveryone.com/training-mileagetargets-filtered.php?category=RUN&mileage=500

to set your mileage: fetcheveryone.com/training-targets.php

Goal Planner docs.google.com

(When you go in give yourself a colour so I know you're wanting to be on the sheet so I can keep it tidy)

If you update the race planner after I've updated the header drop me an fmail or a reminder (or 2) on the thread so I know to update. Thanks
