Just realised Grian Chatten is the Fontaines DC singer. He has a solo album out today so will also check that out.

Just tuning in to some of the Glastonbury sets, that Weyes Blood one is a killer, way better than the album (probably because the lp before Titanic rising was better) but shorn of the over production - Lana step aside, THAT is how it's done. Phoenix also knocked it out the park while the rest of the world was watching Elton John or Queens of the Stone Age.

Just put up reviews for Grian Chatten (very good), bdrmm (very good), Nothing but Thieves (hmmm).
That's me done 50 reviews now this year. I think 45/46 are 2023 releases. Might do a blog summarising the first half of the years reviews...

Just added a review for Christine and the Queens. I am so in love with this album. Will take something special to beat this in my end of the year list.

New releases day. Will give PJ Harvey a listen as always but nothing much else standing out. Will read some reviews and hopefully uncover something.

Anohni sounds like a must pick up today, great to see she is working with the Johnsons again, the I am a bird now is one of my fave ever albums, and the extra backing the Johnsons give just colours in the songs so much more. From listens of the advance tracks there is a Marvin Gaye "What's going on" and also a Philly soul feel to some of the tracks that works nicely.
