I've hit 50 bottles, so I'm splitting out a separate "no/low achohol" list and re-numbering everything again. My cans list has shrunk from 25 to 17 - I really don't think I'm going to make 50 of those by the end of the year.

39. (bottle) Freedom Pils (4.4%). Washed down last nights Nando's nicely, although I miss that Mozambique Lager they used to serve, just for the exoticism. I'm sure they used to have a 0.5% option too, which was absent.

No/Lo
19. (bottle) St. Peters Without (0.0%). I've read good things about this one, but I didn't like it at all.
20. (bottle) Paulaner Weissbeer (0.0%). Very inauthentic head to this, but the flavour was great. I'll be sticking with the Erdinger 0.5% for everyday consumption, but this makes a more than acceptable substitute.

Cans
18. (can) Arbor Ales C-Bomb (4.7%). Bought after setting a PB at the Bristol Half, this tasted delicious. I suspect it was genuinely nice.

No/Lo
21. (can) Bristol Beer Factory Clear Head (0.5%). As part of the opening of work's new office. This was alright, but suffered by being sandwiched between two 'real' beers (Optimist, Milk Stout) that don't figure on my list because they're already on my draught list. There was also Southville Hop that would have been a new addition, but I don't like that one.

19. (can) Efes Draft (sic) (5.0%). In a funny barrel-shaped can, I expected this to be a bit maltier for some reason.
20. (can) The Great British Brewing Co. Session Pale Ale (4.2%). Tolerable. I suspect it was worth the price I paid, but I don't remember what that was.

40. (bottle) Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (5.6%). Forgot how much I don't like this, although I managed to choke it down.

No, they were not! I've had a few nice draught beers lately (Clwb Tropica just tonight), but foolishly stopped counting after I reached 50 - I'm sure I'd be over 100 by now.

How did you get on in Portugal?

Still here. Found a Brew pub near us in Lisbon, plus a few different beers from the standard walking up the coast. I think I am looking at 6 or 7 new for 2022 :-)

About This Thread

Maintained by Ocelot Spleens
and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
