No Green Jack while in Lowestoft HT? Worth looking out for if you are visiting again!

I do like Green Jack in the Triangle but we didn’t quite make it. Two pubs which always feature on my Trips there are the Standford arms and the Dockyard Tavern in Gorleston

79. Kees "Baby Caramel Fudge Stout" Pastry Stout 5.3%. Absolutely delicious.

I went Italian during the recent hot weather so I've got Birra Moretti, Peroni and Peroni 0.0 to add to my tally.

Must be time to wheel out the big list for a check-up.

No longer counting but a new cask ale for me last night in a local pub Shine On from Milestone Brewery in Nottinghamshire. The landlord said he thought I would like it and he was right!

Recently returned from my holidays in Spain.
20. (can) San Miguel Magna (5.7%). Bit strong for a pre-lunch drink, which is what this was.
21. (can) San Miguel 0.0 Manzana (0.0%). I picked this up just to see if it could possibly be as bad as it sounded. it was simultaneously better and worse. Despite 13% actual apple juice it had a really artificial apple taste.
22. (can) Krombacher Pils (4.8%)
23. (can) Heineken 0.0 (0.0%). I was shocked to discover this wasn't already on my list, I've been drinking loads of it this year.
24. (can) Keler 18 (6.0%)
25. (can) Mahou Sin (<1%). Sin means 'without' in Spanish, I thought this was going to be another 0.0%, but apparently not.

34. (bottle) Leffe Blonde (6.6%)
35. (bottle) Mahou Barrica (6.1%)
36. (bottle) La Salve Munich (6.2%). A 'local' brew (Bilbao), I'd never seen the brand before, but it was all over the town we were staying in.
37. (bottle) Estrella Galicia Negra (0.0%). A perfectly acceptable stout. I don't know if stouts were harder to crack than 0% lagers, etc., but between this and the Guinness it seems it was worth the wait.
38. (bottle) Estrella Galicia Especial (5.5%)
39. (bottle) La Salve Lager (5.0%). Pick of the La Salve beers I tried.
40. (bottle) La Salve Lucia (5.8%). A LOT of toasted malt in this one, which seems to be the fashion in Spain currently.
41. (bottle) 18/70 La Rubia (6.2%). Another 'local' brew, this time from San Sebastian - only it's actually from Heineken.
42. (bottle) Franziskaner Weissbier Alkoholfrei (0.5%). I know this is theoretically available in the UK, but I've never seen it. I had a bottle after a couple of long runs on hot days, and it was delicious. I'd like to try it under more normal conditions to confirm, though.

15 new beers in 12 days, not too shabby. I also had a 0.0% Free Damm on draught that I'm ready to add to a no/low list if I manage to get over 50 bottles before the year's out (which is looking kinda likely).

About This Thread

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
