Draught no.16 Bierra Moretti

Best of a bad lot at Mansfield Theatre Bar. Definitely was not going to drink John Smiths or Fosters :-(

No 37. A can of German pale ale from west brewery in Glasgow. A bit of a mixture of lager and a non hazy ipa.

17. Huyghe Früli Belgian Strawberry beer.

I may have got a bit desperate picking my four different bottles at Tesco. Actually not as bad as I feared, but I probably would't get another.

11. Birra Moretti Zero

12. Currently drinking a Peerless Brewing 'Full Whack' 6.0% while sat in 'Spoons in Southport watching the local parkruns fall one by one. This could become a beery weekend away ....

I treated myself to a bottle of Adnam's Broadside (6.3%) last night. Apparently brewed to commemorate the Battle of Solebay (nope, never heard of it either, but it seems like a reasonable excuse for a piss-up). Very nice. Sweet, malty, fruity.... strong!!

Sideboard is a lovely beer. Have known a few people thrown by it if they haven't checked the ABV first though!

I like a drop of that Adnam's too. Might add it to the list later.

It is usually on the Morrison's 4 for £6 offer. Although I think they've changed it now to buy 3 get one free or something?

Makes a nice Autumn/Winter quartet with any three from Titanic Plum Porter, Badger Cranbourne Poacher, Bateman's Victory, Wychwood King Goblin and Theakston's Old Peculier.

Just the two to add for the moment...

Affligem "Blond", 6.8%, It's won a lot of awards over the years, but it's certainly a commercial beer, nice but nothing stand out.

Abbaye de Vauclair "Blonde", 6.5%, nothing to write home about, but at €2 for a 75cl bottle, easily drinkable.

Would drink both of them again (and still have some cans of Affligem in the fridge so...), but not something I would rush to buy, other than the Vauclair is insanely cheap.

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
