Adding another 8 normal beers plus 1 non-alcoholic from over the weekend...

- Steam Brew "Session IPA", 4.9%, lightweight version of the Imperial IPA

- Sapporo "Premium Pilsner", 4.7% light pilsner, good to drink with the rugny.

- Galea "Been and Berry", 6.5% sour ale with coffee, I like both sours and coffee, but this was not for me...

- Galea "Barrel Aged Antwerp", 14% Russian imperial stout aged for 6 months in jamaican rum casks, very rich!

- White Pony "Speech Impediment", 8.5% Imperial Brown Ale, bitter, bit of hops, and a nice caramel sweetness.

- De Dochter van de Korenaar "Sans Pardon", 11% Russian Imperial Stout infused with Rooibos gives a nice fruitiness to the richness.

- Stadsbrouwerij 013 "Tttrail Blazer", 8.5% Oaked Triple. Blond, powerful.

- Bakbier Brouwerij "Koud Vuur", 6.3%, intense, heavy, like drinking a bonfire.

- Van Moll "Wanderlust" - 0.3% lots of citrus and hops going on.

That takes me to 36 so far I think...

Speech Impediment, I not entirely sure that counts as recommendation as names go! I don't mind sours, bit with coffee, I don't think I would have gone anywhere near that.

You drank all of those over the weekend and are still able to remember them - Crikey! I'm guessing that it probably wasn't a pint of each of them on Saturday night though.

Some pretty powerful beers their Sam. Impressive that you’ve remembered them all.

That's over 3 days, so only a couple of beers each day... I do love the stouts and porters but they tend to the alcoholic side. That said when light beers tend to be around 5% you do certainly get used to the higher ABVs.

When we first moved out here we saw a few friends visiting from the UK get "Duveled" where they would happily knock back Duvel without realizing it is twice the strength of what they would normally drink in the UK, until it came time to stand up :-D

14. Harbour Cornish Bitter 4%

My self-isolation finally ran out yesterday, so I trotted off to Tesco and got 4 fairly random bottles for £6. I've never heard of this one, it seemed very nice (if nothing particularly special).

My wife didn't like it so I got the whole bottle to myself - result!

About This Thread

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
