Happy to have a black and red heart for the first time since last march or so, when I fell below the line.

First week of Hamburg training completed, 57 for the week, well ahead of target at the moment. My year tends to have most miles in the first six months though, so I need to stay ahead for the time being!

Finally got a 15 miles in, and my mileage looking a bit more healthy now. Have run every day but 1 in January and it still felt difficult to get on top of the target miles. And this without alcohol which in theory should make it easier. That's what illness does for you!

way way down on my previous years' miles when I was doing 150 a month on average and sometimes 200. Illness from last July right through til December has had a big impact. And my bloody arthritic hip is particularly painful twenty four hours a day! Hip replacement will be offered at an "appropriate time" and could be a couple of years away. So...if I can get near 2,000 miles it'll be a miracle!

Will do chunkywizard! Really frustrating though; am having regular physio to help strengthen areas that can assist with hip issue and address the imbalances.

Sounds horrible torey, hope you can get a hip replacement sooner rather than later, I know of two runners that have had this now, and seems to have gone well so far for both.
For me 16 over at 131, after today's 10 miler, a disappointing 1.10.53, but with the aftermath of a long cold, I knew I couldn't expect much better. Wasted 20 seconds in last mile dying on a hardly a hill section, otherwise would have been faster than last year.

17 done today to put me up to 26 over target, hard going but finally getting on top of the mileage needed for 2000.

Well done Chrisull.
Also 17 this morning, currently 48 over target but the mileage will drop again after the Punchbowl 'marathon' in a couple of weeks. Then slowly build again towards an ultra in May and Endure 24 in June. Who know's where I'll be at the end of the year!

Well done Stu, was gonna say you're not in out 2000 league - but I see you're doing 2018 in 2018. Maybe we should ask Lord Fetch to include 2018's in our 2000 league as well, as really it's pretty much the same thing.
