Maidenhead was hot and slow, but I got around as predicted. Achilles is holding up.

One person's slow is another person's pb cw, good news on the achilles.

RingOFire was probably the hardest event I've completed - it was both tough, and beautiful, and exhausting. Snapping awake at 4:45 this morning was tough after getting home at 11 pm last night - and I have Johnny Cash on perma-loop as an earworm.... Ahhh the joys :)

I've hung my road running/trail running shoes until I can run again post hip replacement-which should be within three weeks. Did a couple of miles on the treadmill in the gym which I'll repeat until "the day". Pain and discomfort had become too severe to continue running and the fact that I'm now on morphine based meds has been a wake up call to take a break! Pleased with year total so far but roll on 2019..well..maybe 2020!

I’m under mileage at the moment but it’s helping my Achilles which is feeling much better. Still ahead of target so hopefully I’ll be back to break even distance in a week or two.

Thanks Chrisull..hope to back on trails and roads sometime in late 2019. For now until my op (any day now so I'm told) I'm ok doing a few miles on the gym treadmill (5k's) and keeping up my sessions with my personal trainer.

I see it's gone quiet here! Still waiting to be called in for hip operation and have been on the treadmill doing 3-4 miles a few times a week. Obviously the 2,000 was a lost goal a long time ago but I'm pleased with around 1,300 so far.

I've just reached the 1500 mile mark, so ticking over just ahead of schedule. I should make it as I'm now scheduled to take some of the long Sunday morning marathon training runs, despite not doing the Cornish marathon. Next Sunday's is a 20 miler!

Hope you get the call soon torey as it seems to have been dragging on a while.

How's it going for anyone else here?

1612 for me, so comfortably ahead. Weekly mileage will drop off after Abingdon in 4 weeks but I think I've done enough to get the 2000.

5.4 miles to go - should manage that by year end OK!

I have sort of ground to a halt post Berlin but should have at least another few hundred miles in the legs for 2018. Don't think I will get close to 2,500 though.
