from our local park run we got this message today
Important notice:
We have received word from parkrun hq that the under 11 and dog policies are to be aligned. Starting tomorrow, all under 11s are to be kept on a short lead, held by their accompanying adults. Many thanks for your cooperation. All at St Albans parkrun.

Shit day at work = best time on the pig run (7 miles).

Nice to have lighter evenings back. Didn't intend to go that fast with Oakley 20 on Sunday but it happened.

My personal favorite from todays parkrun April Fools......

"We've got something very exciting to announce.
Over the past few months, Gedling Borough Council have been surveying mine tunnels underneath the park, left since the closure of Gedling Colliery. It has always been their ambition to open up one of the old tunnels for the public to use, for visitors to learn more about the park's heritage.
Today, we signed a deal with the council to amend our parkrun route, to utilise one of the old tunnels. This is an exciting feature, and will make our parkrun unique in the world.
Ian Sullivan, Gedling parkrun Event Director said: "I'm delighted that this deal with the council has gone through, as it will deliver a truly unique experience to both regular and tourist parkruns. parkrunners will enter the tunnel after passing marshal 2, and will travel through it, before re-emerging before the cobra!"
Gedling Borough Council will be carrying out extensive work to make the tunnel safe before it can be open to the public. It is anticipated that the tunnel will open initially on weekends and school holidays, before opening up fully in the future. The tunnel is set to open in the next six months.
We have released an artist's impression as to what the tunnel could look like, once we have access.
