Looby Loo, if having your grandchildren to stay enforces a rest, then they're made of different stuff to ours! 😂 I'm nearly always glad to go for a nice quiet and steady run at some point when they visit!

I wrote war and peace earlier and seems I didn’t post it. Flipping nightmare!

As a briefer version

Welcome to cerid and welcome back Mrsbridgewater hope you’re soon back to fill strength soon.

Good to see you making some progress Steve and you’re right to double check so you know any limits.

hs amazing intervals I couldn’t do that now in awe.

FF great running you too and sending hugs.

LL you’ll soon catch back up hope you’re recovered and Lesley hope you’re ok too.

Managed to get a couple of runs in this week, failed today with wind and an appointment at tattoo studio. 60th birthday lunch for colleague tomorrow afternoon which will involve a few cocktails so goodness knows how Sundays run will go 🤣 away next week with work which will curtail me a little bit I’ll keep plugging away. Have a great weekend all.

I have signed up for a race! An actual race - local half in July. It will be my first race since 2018 😱.

Sounds like your busy GG.

Enjoy your time with the grandchildren LL. Good to see you getting some miles done.

That's a good total Steve.

I don't let my shoes stay looking new for long HS. Go on get them muddy.

I concur with such decisions FF, if you're entering a race then race it and if you're not able to meet the demands then just enjoy what you're doing. Your mileage in itself is great

Superb that you've got a half to go for Lesley.
I chuckled re keeping your new trainers clean hs! Complete opposite to me, I don't feel right in new ones until they look as if they've done some miles!

Glad you've got a couple of miles in gg. When is the big event now?
I had a good discussion with my GP about my angiogram results, my heart isn't an issue except for the natural consequences of aging and nothing is really amiss. However something picked up in relation to my lungs might be causing a problem, she agreed could be post covid but would need a chest x ray. An element of collapse detected. Could be why I have that burning chest after just a minute or so on starting to run

This morning I did 2.2 and felt that I'd fallen out of love with running and struggled. But I'll crack on. For now!

LL, keep the faith! When I retired eight years ago I anticipated loads more miles. Regardless of other things to do that bloody nuisance "age" I think has interfered with my running more than I've been prepared to accept.

My cardiologist pointed out that yeah, running was good but to recognise limitations . Ugh!

Everyone's running seems to be going well. I decided to wear my newish trainers, and only got the right hand shoe a bit muddy. I am a bit disappointed with my 31.04 parkrun time, as the first lap was at a reasonable pace. Unfortunately, I seemed to "run out of steam," and slowed down breathing hard. I'm feeling the after effects with a headache and feeling "under the weather."
Apologies for not responding to your individual posts, but as my dad used to say "I'm just resting my eyes 😁"

john213mar I meant I’m so knackered from looking after them means rest from running as I’m too tired. 🤣
Good luck Lesley nice to have a goal.
My parkrun was better than last week and although slow it was progressive. Sorry yours was disappointing but you’ve had a great week. Thanks geordiegirlGG and hope your wind problem clears up 😉

Oh, I’d forgotten what a lovely group this is! Thanks for the welcome back - I will try to catch up with all your news.

LL - it is Boston USA (for the second time - won’t do it again as it is so expensive, but Husbando qualified this time for the first time). It will be my 50th marathon - I was going to stop running marathons at 50, but forgot and got a place for Berlin in September!
