Thanks both off to Liverpool tomorrow so I’m sure to get a couple of short runs in and hopefully be back at it next week.

geordieclaus - Sefton Park's scenic and quite sheltered by trees if you stick to the central 'oval'. Less rain & kinder winds tomorrow.

Geordieclaus and Swittle, I lived in Liverpool for nearly 9 years, and used to train regularly round Sefton Park. It's nearly 36 years since I left, but even all those years ago, it was very popular with runners. As a matter of interest, one day I was doing "speed work," when who should go speeding past but Hugh Jones, who's marathon times are still superior to the majority of todays elite British male runners.

Hugh Jones...and others hs still did better times than many of the elite today. I think Steve Jones 2.07.36 ( or thereabouts) is still the UK marathon record isn't it?
Good going with speed work again hs, something I've blabbed on about doing all year and failed at but content enough with my year overall. Still only doing a couple of miles on my outings but suiting me at the mo.
Hope you're better now gg.

A slow 5 this morning keeps me ticking over. Nice now that my half is over I can relax a bit before marathon training next year.
