Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Just to join in, I've been stuck on 12th for about a month now, with only momentary deviations. While the hot weather lasts, I'm not doing any Long Runs, as I don't seem to fare too well in 25C+ temps. I did 5 miles this morning at 8.30 on a fairly shaded cycleway. I struggled during the first half-mile with stiffness and achy thighs, but it improved & last 4 miles went quite well.

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. Congrats HS on being top of the pile.

Well done Evangel managing 5 miles yesterday in the heat. I only ran a very slow 5k and was drenched in sweat.

Thanks, I don't know how long I will stay at the top.

Today is a rest day.

Excellent to be top of the pile hs...dunno how you keep going so well. I'm sure your marathon training will keep you there or thereabouts, keep it up! Hope the wasps are sorted out by now.
Twelfth is something special too Evangel and five miles would be a fairly long run for me so doing it in 25c regardless of cycleway is impressive
Four quite warm miles with my wife this morning

... she's a hot weather lover and runs well as temperatures soar and somehow drags me along!
I've slipped down the table and getting dangerously close to slipping out into the thirties now! Glad I have some miles in the bank!

Thanks Steve! I suppose running is what keeps me going. It's helped me through the high and low periods during my life.

The wasps have been "wiped out" They had built a nest in the loft, part of which was in the flexible flue of the extractor from the kitchen. The exterminator had to cut through the flue to remove it. I will have to get another before I can use the extractor fan again.

Well done running in this morning's heat. I'm sure that you will reach your target.

Steve I envy your Mrs I suffer terribly in the heat.

HS It is funny this running how it becomes a consistent when life isn't I wonder how it hooks us in and obsesses us. Could be worse things...

Nice to hear from you Evangel. Some cooler weather coming.
I did a club Hill session tonight which I always enjoy in a weird kind of way.

LL, running with others can be quite uplifting - even for hills. [The pun was not intended!]

Very droll Evangel 😁

Another very hot day, and the Wednesday structured training session. A long easy run out, and then 8 x 1 minute with 2 minutes jog recoveries, finishing with an easy warm down.
