Well done for this mornings 4.3 miles on roads this morning Steve.

Terrible weather here. Heavy rain and very strong winds.

I had my routine eye test this morning, which is every two years. and was told that I had Blepharitis. This is to put it simply, crusty eyelashes. I will have to wear a moist heat mask for 10 minutes each morning, and then wipe with a Blepha Wipe. I also have to have new glasses. This can happen at any age, but is more common in people over 50.

I didn't run today, which is just as well, considering the weather.

Glad to hear you finally got your letter and there's something you can work with.

I hear you Lesley. I'm in Inverclyde and we should be having mild wet weather which is a pain but we've been having 40mph gusts and -5 windchill. My running motivation has been on the floor but you have to keep chugging along.

This jet stream covering the UK should be moving north soon. Onwards and upwards to better weather.

I'd never heard of blepharitis hs, good that you can ease the issue, hope it clears up. Sounds a bit like conjunctivitis.
We didn't have strong winds here yesterday and this morning was/is glorious, the nicest morning for a long time. I did another 4.3 miles keeping an eye on my HR. Getting to a max of 130bpm and "feeling it" and being very much enough continues to be the issue. A good outcome if I take up the recommendation of medical intervention would be being able to run steadily/ continuously with my HR at 140. A long way off!

We made it to the boat yesterday I am feeling that the bug is on its way out but far from gone. I am upright and managed to do a few jobs but the cough has a proper hold on me so not looking like I’ll get out this weekend (I may have to try a slow 1.3m run/walk to round up to 105 for the month) I am gutted it should have easily been a 140m month. C’est la vie if I can clear this and get back sometime next week I’ll be happy.

The weather is atrocious though the ground to the mooring is soaking wet, we had thought we’d go for a walk last night , glad we didn’t no sooner would we have got out and the wind and rain were strong and relentless … the water level is up a good 6” this morning. Surely it has to clear soon or maybe The Day After Tomorrow has indeed arrived.

Hope you all have a lovely long Easter Weekend whatever you’re doing.

How’s little man Lesley?

I hope the morning routine helps your eyes hillstrider.
Well done for persevering duo when you have no motivation.
Another nice 4.3 miles Steve, well done.
I hope you're feeling better soon GG being ill when you're an active person is horrible.
Nine and three quarter miles this morning for me with an extra run.

I hadn't heard of Blepharitis before either, Steve. My eyes definitely felt "fresher' this morning after 10 minutes wearing the heat mask, and using a wipe. I googled it, and there was quite a lot of useful info.

Well done for another 4.3 mile run/walk. Keep at it, you have made very good progress, compared with a few months ago.

I'm glad that you are starting to feel a bit better GG, but sorry that you still have that persistent cough.

Typically on a non running day, there has been no rain, and it's bright and sunny.

The supermarket was very busy this morning, probably because of the Bank Holiday and that they will be shut all day on Easter Monday. I enjoyed the Farmers Walk back with heavier than usual bags. I consider it a challenge now to see how quickly I can walk.

We are doing the local parkrun tomorrow, which will be course D, the 4 hilly laps. We haven't done that one for several weeks.

Thanks FF, our posts crossed. The heat mask certainly helped, as the heat loosens the crustiness in the eye lashes. I had no idea that there was anything like this. I didn't have any symptoms, which is often the case, and only detected at routine eye examination.

That's a new one on me too HS. It's always the same, the nice days are non running days - it's lovely here today. Enjoy parkrun tomorrow.

Nice miles there Steve and FF.

Glad your feeling a little better GG, maybe a relaxing weekend at the boat might help.

I'm just glad we only had a little bit of snow Duo, there were threats of lots of snow over Aberdeen which didn't happen.

The wee man is a little better, still not 100%. He's sound asleep on the sofa just now, he was up very early. I am desperate for a good night's sleep though. I ran later in the evening last night, I really couldn't get up early.

Long run planned for tomorrow morning. Hoping the sun stays out.

Hello Dave_K, well done for your perseverance and getting the last 7 miles done. Some runs are like that. My run last Sunday was ok but afterwards was awful as I'd dehydrated. My fault as I hadn't drank enough on Saturday.
