I managed 27:12, happy enough with that. Not too windy but very warm. Felt hard and heart rate average was high.

I bet you were glad to finish that Lesley! Well done on giving your all.
Absolutely right gg and Lesley, doctors aren't always as thorough as we would like-- needless to say they are under ridiculous pressure in many locations with too many patients and not enough time. My doctor's surgery ought to have picked up on 10% of statin users possible getting raised sugar levels. They unfortunately don't always "get" that a certain section of the population, such as runners, have a serious interest in maintaining good overall health without mere prescriptions.
Just 2 .2 miles this morning trying to maintain what is zone 2 heart rate for me (118-128) and it was my limit.Had to walk periodically which shows how poor the body is still behaving! Ah well, I'll crack on!

Well done for getting out folks and a good 5k Lesley.

No running since Sunday for me and a late night at work put paid to a run this morning.

Some meds have different effects on different people and there are so many different pharmaceutical companies that do the 'same' meds but have different side effects. I certainly don't envy doctors and like any employee anywhere I'm afraid you get good and bad.

My wife is under a consultant and the latest couple ask questions but just do not listen to the answer. Why ask if you're not listening.

Well done Steve for still persevering, you are getting there.

This morning was a tough hilly circuits reps session with the Wednesday Crew. Total mileage 6.65 including run out and back. The circuit is named "The Big Dipper" for obvious reasons once you have done it. We did 3 5 minute reps, with recoveries round a flat circuit. It must have been productive, as garmin connect showed "optimum" making a nice change from "unproductive!"

I forgot to mention that on the run back, a cow had just given birth, with its calf laying on the grass. We waited a while in case she had another, but she hadn't by the time we left. 🐂

It was FF, and one of my friends is a retired midwife, and she waited until the calf got to its feet before leaving. She was "really made up" as they say in Liverpool. 😁

Well done Lesley it’s always harder in humid head

Sounds like a tough but eventful run hs and optimum! The training is paying dividends. So cool to see a little baby calf enter the world. I lived next to a diary farm as a child and they used to take my brother and I over when they were calfing and we’d help feed them. That gave me a nice reminder of my childhood as how often do we ponder such things.

On doctors I’m not dissing them at all, after all they are general practitioners and know little things about a lot of things and are definitely overstretched but it worries me that I could have been put on tablets I didn’t need as they have incentives to push certain drugs, much better to refer at risk people to someone more knowledgeable. I am very anti pills probably from ill health when I was younger and given all kinds of drugs to see if they helped or to mask pain.

Sneaking off to the boat a day early this week working tomorrow but it’s so peaceful I can’t wait. It’s been a manic week (again)

That was interesting GG, living next to a dairy farm. An uncle of mine had a dairy farm on the Isle of Wight.

I hope that you enjoy your time on the boat.

This morning was a recovery pace hilly 4 miles on roads, but pushing on the hills. 🥵
