Well done hillstrider, despite being overcast it's still quite warm out.

I was hoping to get out for a run this morning but my wife has woken with a swollen eye and we've been trying to email the doctors with photos of it. In fact her other eye is affected too. Tablets have since been prescribed so hopefully once collected they can start to work quickly. I hope to run tomorrow.

She left the house just a short while ago hoping the prescription is ready to collect. We think the swelling has gone down slightly, however we've just had a heavy downpour, I hope she found some cover.

Hope that your wife's eye had improved FF...and that she didn't get soaked either.
10k forest miles, wonderful environment hs. And then a quick 3miles after that! Doing well!
A tired you too gg! With you I'm not surprised with everything you throw into a day. How are your Mam's knees lately?
Nice cool morning and tiredness lifted this morning. Poor run if 5k roads nevertheless and some strange respiratory response when HR got to a mere 125bpm. I'm putting some of this poor period down to post covid. Having said that and having trawled through my old log books I might have to accept that my age is a factor. Regardless of it all and for some strange reason (😂) I still enjoy getting out early and plodding!

Thank you all for your good wishes for my wife. She is on antibiotics and antihistamine tablets however her eye is now swollen underneath her eye unlike yesterday where it was her eyelid and into the corner of her eye near her nose.

I did get to run this morning and managed 13 with 4 at tempo. Not quite the pace I'd have liked for the tempo but I haven't run for 10 days and with the warmth I'm not too disappointed either. I hope to get a recovery run in tomorrow too. Dull and overcast this morning but still plenty warm enough.

Thanks Steve, it was a good days running yesterday, but I'm feeling the effects today.

Well done for your 5k, and don't worry about the apparently low max hr. Age is definitely a factor, and this is borne out by the application of the very inaccurate formula 220 minus your age. In my case, this would be 144. I don't take much notice of this, and often exceed it. My average pace is usually below this, so I'm quite happy with that.

Sorry to hear about your painful knee problem Turkhish. I hope the physio is able to diagnose and provide some stretches, squats, etc

to speed recovery! When I tore the menisci in my right knee back in 2017, my physio gave me a schedule of exercises, and also recommended cycling. As I didn't have a bike, I attended spinning sessions twice a week for 2 years.

FF, good that your wife is now on medication, which I hope will speed up recovery.

Well done for your 13 miles, 4 of which at tempo pace. That's very impressive, especially after 10 days of non running.

It actually rained this morning, and I got quite wet walking to and from the supermarket. It stopped soon after I got home.
