Yes, I've always taken rest days as a general rule and, like you I've been at it for over forty years.

Congrats on the 100 days, Steve. A massive effort.

HS, I’ve done a couple of marathons and a couple of halfs, but no other distances. For some reason my body doesn’t really enjoy running fast in the shorter stuff. I always end up with knee problems which must be down to poor technique. I feel better suited to the longer distances where I can plod along at a jog. My body holds up much better.

A tick under 11km this morning. One more run on Friday and then race day on Sunday.

Seems your experience was much like the whole farming community has☹️, well done though as usual for getting the walk completed despite the rain.
Thanks JackFW, it hasn't really been very arduous compared with nearly everyone else here! I completed the 100 days this morning, felt a bit better but still got a "bit of a chest". It's good that you've found your groove in respect of distances. I always enjoyed longer runs too but I'm out of that league currently.

Well done on your marathon MrHSc, I would love a time like that.

Hope everything is well now Donnie. Not long till your race.

Good luck for Sunday Jack, my race is also on Sunday.

You are doing great Steve, a streak is fantastic. Hope your ok now.

Easy 5k today, well it felt easy, pace was faster than it should have been. I don't really look at my watch when I run. One short run on Friday and off to Aberfeldy in the afternoon. I have two weeks off work for the school holidays - really looking forward to turning on my out of office tomorrow afternoon.

Weather is looking to be quite cold on Sunday morning, at least it's dry and not too windy so I will take that. Just the decisions on what to wear, it's a tricky one.

JackFW, it is good that you have found your niche is longer distances. You therefore tailor your training according.

Well done for this mornings 11k.

Thanks Steve, it was my own fault that I got soaked yesterday. I should have worn a coat when leaving home.

Well done for completing 100 miles this morning.

Good that your chest is feeling a bit better, and hopefully will soon be 100%

Good luck with Sundays race Lesley. It seems that conditions will be ok. Well done for this mornings easy pace 5k.

This morning I ran a solo 10k fartlek on roads.

A solo 5k on roads this morning. No rain, but bitterly cold wind.

Damp dark but ok temperature wise here! Well done hs in your solo 5k. I did a solo just over 5k and didn't enjoy it much today. I have good days and less good days with the post COVID issues and which aren't levelling out yet. I guess they may never change!
