How many miles per week are you all aiming for? I assume you have built in some weeks off running due to illness or holiday so it's not just 1000/52, or is it?

1000 miles would be the most I've ever run in a year. However, each year it looks like I'll do much much more until about Spring marathon time. After that it generally falls apart for about 5 months and I stop running :(

I'm hoping that by targeting the 1000 miles I'll be motivated to keep going after my marathon.

I'm 16/1000 right now by the way.

Khanivore - you can do as many or as little miles per week as you like. If you did 19.8 miles each week then you should reach target by the end of the year. Hopefully we can motivate you to keep going after spring time. :-)

Kharnivore,
I work on 25 per week - which allows me enough time to fall apart and then recover once in the year, and go on holiday!

And if I don't fall apart, I come in over target. :-)

Weekly mileage varies considerably for me but aim to do at least 100/month (which I managed for 12/12 last year but allows for a bad month or two as in the previous 2years)

Now just shy of 20 ...

I was thinking an average of 30 a week might give me a fighting chance to explode and recover :)

I run 5 days a week. Weekday evenings tend to be 3-5 miles, the parkrun on Saturday and whatever long run is on the training plan for Sunday - or whatever the length of the race I've entered. It all adds up.

I only did 30 miles a week on seven occasions Khanivore- the rest were all in the twenties. Like Peter I aim for 100 miles a month and thanks to that I ran more than 1,300 miles in 2016. I think aiming for that 100 gives you lots of room for ups and downs. I'm currently running every day and on the 54th day of a streak which has sort of got me hooked I! I generally run 5 days a week during more sensible times!
28/100 and I 'm anxiously watching Peter catching me , as usual!
