Today hurts Mrs B...but it was oh so worth it! Having been looking at photos of the finish line and I feel quite emotional....vowed to myself at mile 22 I'd never run another...now debating between Edinburgh and Manchester for the spring! Enjoy every moment! Can't wait to hear how it goes!!

3 miles tonight will bring up the 900 - getting there!

It's quite nice to have slowed up on the training now that marathon season is out of the way...

Go for it twinny! I am so nervous about Sunday, but I keep telling myself that this time next week I'll be able to say 'I'm a marathon runner!' Course closes after 5 hours - so I better beat that!

I am very bad at setting off at the right pace, I normally go far too fast. I am going to try to be good and run the first few miles at 10 min/mile pace. Last race I did the first three miles close to 8 min/mile pace and then slowed down - never as slow at 10 min/mile pace, but I figure if I start out slow I know I can complete. Oh lordy, I think I'm over thinking it!

Good luck Twinny.

Mrs B, nerves are good but if you are keeping pace with the Kenyans then you have probably gone off a tad quick. You will have no worries about the 5hr cut off, Im sure you'll be fine

Mrs B, I think going off too fast was part of my problem last week..looking at the Garmin log, I passed 10k at 48 mins, which is not far off my 10K PB!! Since I was aiming for a just under a 9 min mile, this was probably a mistake...it;s just so easy to be swept along at the start!! I'm sure you'll do brilliantly!! To be honest at mile 22 I was past caring about time, I just wanted to know I'd made it. Only just coming down from the marathon high, I must admit!!!

My aim, before June, was around 9 min/mile. It will be 4 weeks since my 22 mile run - seems like a long time ago - when I do the marathon.

Good luck Mrs B. Its natural to be nervous before your first marathon, but all you need to think about is that you've put in some serious mileage over teh past few months and therefore your legs and your lungs are more than ready for the challenge. And as Twinny has been saying, the feeling when you cross the line and you know that you've done it is fantastic!
